THE LA CROISETTE

The La Croisette Magazine: Inés Torremocha

After more than twenty-five years on the commercial front line of major multinational companies, the author of Life Is Sales has transformed her experience into a philosophy of leadership, authenticity and purpose.

Some titles summarise a book. Others encapsulate an entire life. Life Is Sales belongs to the latter category.

Behind this statement lies not an invitation to turn every conversation into a transaction, but a different way of understanding human relationships. Selling is not merely about generating revenue. It also happens when someone defends an idea, presents a project, seeks an investor’s trust or demonstrates why they deserve an opportunity.

In those moments, no product is being sold. A vision is being communicated and, ultimately, each person is presenting who they are to the world.

This is the central idea of Life Is Sales, published by Grupo Planeta, now in its twelfth edition and available across Spain and Latin America. Its message resonates with a generation of professionals who no longer want to choose between achieving results and remaining true to themselves.

Selling Without Losing Yourself

The book emerged from more than twenty-five years of commercial experience within major multinational companies: ambitious targets, complex negotiations, demanding clients, high-pressure decisions and rejections that eventually became valuable lessons.

It was not written from theory, but from the front line.

For too long, sales has been associated with persistence or the ability to persuade at any cost. Her vision proposes precisely the opposite: genuine influence begins when pretence disappears.

Selling well requires a combination of Commercial Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence. It means listening before speaking, asking the right question and understanding that a successful deal should benefit both the person selling and the person choosing to place their trust.

In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, automation and data, this perspective has become especially relevant. Technology can accelerate processes and anticipate behaviour, but trust remains profoundly human.

From Experience to the Stage

The success of the book brought its message to the stage. Her most requested keynote, TransformACTION, is built around a 4×4 methodology: AcceptACTION, to navigate difficult circumstances without allowing them to obstruct results; Trust, as the ability to generate and communicate credibility; DifferentiACTION, essential for standing out in saturated markets; and Commitment, as the connection between every action and the purpose behind it.

Her second keynote, It’s Not Magic, It’s Commercial Intelligence, explores the mechanisms of persuasion, communication and leadership. Its premise is clear: every leader must inspire others to believe in a direction before they decide to move towards it.

Her career has led her to work with organisations including BBVA, Banco Santander, CaixaBank, Calzedonia, Naturgy, MAPFRE and Iberia, and to share her vision in Spain and across Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic and Bolivia.

In 2019, Pipedrive Global named her among the ten leading Spanish-speaking sales experts. In 2023, Psicología y Mente recognised her as one of Spain’s seven leading sales coaches. She also serves on the Board of Directors of ASNIE, Spain’s National Association of Emotional Intelligence, and regularly collaborates with Cadena SER and Grupo Prisa.

Sales as Purpose

After twenty-five years learning how to sell from within major corporations and another seven teaching others to do so authentically, her conclusion is not about infallible formulas. It is about identity.

Everyone sells something every day: an idea, an ability, a vision or a possible version of the future. The difference lies not only in technique, but in the alignment between what people say, what they feel and what they ultimately do.

Life Is Sales is therefore far more than a business book. It is a reflection on how people connect, influence others and leave a lasting mark.

Because selling is not simply about getting someone to say yes.

It is about becoming someone worth believing in.
